It's a unique fairytale park in Vimmerby with settings from Astrid
Lindgren´s stories. Here children are free to live out their games
and adventures. They can meet some of the characters from the
books in person - for example Emil, Pippi, Ronia and all the others.

Astrid Lindgren´s Näs
"Astrid Lindgren´s Näs" is an new centre
of culture in Vimmerby, about ten minutes walk from Stadshotellet.
Visit the unique house where Astrid Lindgren was born, explore
the new exhibition of her life in the Pavillion and have a cup
of coffe and homemade cookies in it´s café. You
can also visit "Boa", a craftwork studio run by Astrid´s
relatives.

10 km north of Vimmerby there is a new exciting tourist attraction.
Here is Sweden built with all 25 provinces, lakes, mountains
and houses. All buildings are genuine style from the late 19:th
century in the scale of 1:3.

Emil's Katthult:
Katthult´s real name is Gibberyd and it's situated about 25
km from Vimmerby in the village Rumskulla. Here you can see
the house where Emil lived.
Bullerbyn - Noisy Village - you will find in Sevedstorp outside
Pelarne 15 km from Vimmerby. The three small houses looks exactly
as in the books. A long time ago Astrid Lindgren´s father lived
here.
Both places are well known thanks to the fact that the movies
based on the books were filmed here.

Visans Skepp:
Visans Skepp has 40 favourite Swedish songs and ballads carved
in 20 huge stones. You can find them in Storebro, 10 km south
of Vimmerby.
The Nightingale Museum:
The museum Näktergalen is located in a historical building,
from the 18:th century, nearby the church in Vimmerby. There
you will find some wonderful wallpaintings that have been preserved
as well as some interesting exhibitions.
Norra Kvill- a nationalpark in Kalmar county:
Norra Kvill is a National park located 19 km Northwest of Vimmerby.
With the 114 hectares of primeval forest, Norra Kvill is quite
unique for this southern part of Sweden. It's really fascinating
with its fallen trees, moss covered boulders and enchanting
lakes.
Churches:
In Vimmerby and places around there are a lot of beautiful churches.
One of the oldest wooden churches is located in Pelarne. The
oldest part of the church is from the 13:th century. Frödinge
and Djursdala also have old wooden churches with marvellous
paintings.
